I've got to hand it to Sarah Palin. Despite her fundamentalist fears that Halloween is a day devoted to evil, she's speaking twice in Pennsylvania. But she's taking no chances. At each rally, she'll be surrounded by thousands of cross-bearing Palin zealots!

Why Sarah Palin Won't Campaign on Halloween

I just received an e-mail from a reader who raises this provocative point:

"Hi Gus: Thanks for holding down the fort while Doc is on the road. I just wanted to mention that it's not likely that Sarah Palin will make any campaign appearances this Halloween. As a rigid fundamentalist, Sarah is likely to be afraid that Wiccans and Satanists will be stalking her on that day. Most likely, she'll take the day "off." Or if she does find the courage to be in public, she'll probably surround herself with thousands of fundamentalist foot soldiers bearing crosses to ward off costume-wearing evil spirits. Woo! Woo!"
